Jude Bellingham quickly deletes tweet about Liverpool transfer

Jude Bellingham has responded to recent reports suggesting he could be on the move to Liverpool.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has long been linked with signing for the club - but has given a reaction to whether he will be joining the Reds .

The ECHO has previously reported that although Liverpool have been monitoring the England international’s development, suggestions of a permanent move are premature.

Having moved to Dortmund from Birmingham City in 2020, the midfielder is considered one of the most highly-rated players in world football, following his success since joining the club.

However, in a tweet that has since been deleted, Bellingham reacted to a social media post claiming that he had told people he would be joining Liverpool by posting a GIF of himself laughing.

Though the tweet was removed a short while afterwards, the player’s father also responded to the reports.

Mark Bellingham described the gossip as “really disappointing” and disputed the credibility of any speculation, suggesting that both Jude and his family see his immediate future at the Westfalenstadion, before then also deleting his tweet.

Former Premier League midfielder Craig Hignett had previously alleged that Bellingham was set to join Liverpool.

“I think I’ve heard it on good authority and I can’t say where I’ve heard it from, but apparently he has been saying that he is Liverpool bound,” he told BBC Radio Merseyside via LFC Transfer Room .

“Whether that is January or whether that is the end of the season isn’t sure yet, but I think, I have it on good authority that it is almost a cert.“

Transfer speculation has continued to follow Bellingham, who has already registered three goals and five assists in 13 games across the Bundesliga and Champions League.

Although Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl refuted any suggestions that Bellingham could be joining the Reds as recently as last week.

"He is a Borussia Dortmund player and remains a Borussia Dortmund player,” he told Sport1 .

"There's a lot of interest around Jude Bellingham, not only Liverpool. But there is no bottom line and no exit clause.

“He is loved, he enjoys that. There are no signs he could leave Dortmund soon.

He continued: "It's good that we talk about our players. It shows that we are doing something right. We can offer a lot at Borussia Dortmund. We want to win titles, but we have to keep the guys for that."
