Jude Bellingham reacts to Erling Haaland winning goal for Man City vs Borussia Dortmund

Erling Haaland won plenty of praise for his superb acrobatic winner for Manchester City against his old club Borussia Dortmund.

The Champions League group clash was locked at 1-1 heading into the final stages when the Norwegian scored acrobatically to down his old employers. The giant striker connected with Joao Cancelo's cute cross and applied a stunning finish with the outside of his left foot.

When asked if the winning goal was 'Zlatan-esque' after the game, Haaland's former Dortmund colleague Jude Bellingham responded: "Well, Erling-esque."

When it was put to him that City didn't have a shot on target until the 75th minute before scoring twice late on, Bellingham said: "That's what great teams can do to you, you don't give them a sniff and then out of nothing they can score and tilt the game back in their favour. That shows his (Haaland's) quality, he's not always in the game but you know that if you give him half a sniff he can score a goal and that's what he's done tonight.

Bellingham had headed the Germans in front at the Etihad only for City's John Stones to score from distance to restore parity. With the tie evenly poised, Haaland then produced his moment of magic to seal the win.

His manager Pep Guardiola has compared it to Johan Cruyff's 'phantom goal' for Barcelona back in 1973 against Atletico Madrid.

Guardiola said: "What a goal. I remember a long time ago in Barcelona Johan Cruyff scored one quite similar against Atletico Madrid. It's nice Erling emulated Johan Cruyff."
