Jude Bellingham makes transfer admission as Man Utd face £30m Dortmund threat

Birmingham City prodigy Jude Bellingham is expecting a big money transfer this summer.

The 6ft, 16-year-old midfielder from Stourbridge has impressed in an extended debut season, with 36 appearances so far for the Blues.

He even scored on his first game in front of the home crowd at St Andrew’s, netting the winner against Stoke City back in August.

According to MEN Sport, Europe’s elite have now come calling – most significantly, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United.

And Bellingham is apparently preparing to snub United in favour of the Bundesliga club.

The youngster and his dad turned agent are looking for regular first-team football, which would seem more likely at Dortmund compared to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side at present.

Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic do not leave much space for experimentation in midfield.

Chelsea had also been thought to have an interest in Bellingham, but it’s now a two-horse race for the teenager’s signature – in a deal that could be worth as much as £30million.

The MEN previously reported United's interest in Bellingham, with the club viewing the central midfielder as a prospect for the future.

The player and his father were given a tour around United’s Carrington training ground in March ahead of a potential move.

However, United have also reportedly lined up Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish in a bid to bolster their midfield this summer.

Outgoing Birmingham boss Pep Clotet was asked about the transfer speculation surrounding Bellingham after his side’s goalless draw with West Brom at the weekend.

“I see him very focused on us and having a strong finish to the season,” Clotet said. “I see nothing from him that makes me believe his head is not here. I think his head is here.”

“I don’t know maybe in his free time he has been having some German classes or Manchester accent classes – I don’t know. But I think he looks very confident and comfortable in his situation.

“I can’t give any insight into his transfer situation because it is something related to next season, so I never even asked.”
