Jude Bellingham delivers telling four-word response when asked if he's joining Man Utd

Jude Bellingham laughed off "silly" claims that he could be set for a move to Manchester United as interest cranks up in the England star.

The former Birmingham City midfielder has consistently shone both on the international and club stage for the Three Lions and German giants Borussia Dortmund. His excellent performances have seen a number of clubs eye a big-money move for his signature.

Man United are interested alongside fierce rivals Liverpool, whilst Spanish giants Real Madrid have also been linked. A fan recently asked Bellingham if he could become a Red Devil in a video shared on social media.

While taking a photo alongside the midfielder they asked: "Are you gonna come Man U?" Bellingham then moved away, chuckling before replying: "No. Don't be silly."

It is not the first time that Bellingham has gotten people talking about his future over recent times. The 19-year-old raised eyebrows with his social media activity in the aftermath of Man United’s 7-0 thumping at the hands of Liverpool.

The midfielder, who is close friends with England teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold, decided to like a post that the defender shared on Instagram in the aftermath of the Reds' triumph. It remains to be seen quite where Bellingham will end up going forwards as clubs eye a swoop this summer.

Former Red Devil Peter Schmeichel has suggested that the midfielder would be an ideal signing for United and has suggested that Old Trafford could well become a more attractive destination depending on what happens for the remainder of the campaign.

Speaking last month, the ex-goalkeeper said: "One of the things Jamie [Carragher] has said about Liverpool signing Jude Bellingham, he would be perfect for us, but we're not attractive enough [right now] because we're not in that position.

"But you can imagine a situation where Liverpool aren't in the Champions League and Manchester United are then all of a sudden we might be more attractive. And of course with the situation of Man City as well, we might be that club, so it's very important for us now to keep on track steadily."

Any deal for Bellingham in any capacity is not expected to be cheap with reports suggesting that Dortmund will hold out for around £130m for his services. That will certainly be a price that will disgruntle officials at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils were originally linked with a swoop for Bellingham ahead of his move to Dortmund from Birmingham but were beaten to the punch by the German side - a fee of £25m paid to the Midlands outfit.

Bellingham, 19, has made 122 appearances for the Bundesliga side since then and has just over two years remaining on his contract at Signal Iduna Park.
