Jude Bellingham challenge sends Alphonso Davies to hospital with suspected concussion

Jude Bellingham 's challenge on Alphonso Davies has forced the Bayern Munich star to head to hospital.

The Borussia Dortmund star, who continues to star for England, is playing in Der Klassiker but mistimed a challenge on his opponent, which has forced the Canadian left-back to exit the contest early and go to hospital with a potential concussion.

The two players were going for a 50-50, but Davies went with his head whilst Bellingham led with his foot. The Bayern player quickly grabbed his face and went down to receive treatment. He had to come off at half-time and is now going for checks, according to reports in Germany.

Bellingham had been booked prior to his challenge on Davies. The former Birmingham City star went in hard on Jamal Musiala and, whilst he got some of the ball, the force was deemed excessive and he was cautioned despite pleading his innocence.

He may count himself lucky that the referee did not brandish a second yellow following his clash with the Bayern star. It would've made things difficult for Dortmund, who went into the interval trailing 1-0 after Leon Goretzka had opened the scoring for the visitors.

Bayern doubled their lead in the second-half with Leroy Sane firing home from 20 yards, but Youssoufa Moukoko has pulled one back for the hosts. Anthony Modeste, who had missed a guilt edge chance to level the game, was then the hero as he scored a header at the back post in the fourth minute of added time to rescue a point.

Bellingham continues to go from strength to strength in Germany and is an incredible influential figure for Dortmund. As a result a host of Europe's top clubs are circling around the teenager, who could be on the move next summer.

Bayern chief Oliver Kahn has been forced to address speculation that the Bavarians could eye a move for the Englishman. He told Sport Bild : "Of course, I think Bellingham is an excellent player. But we've got Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Ryan Gravenberch, Marcel Sabitzer. I can say we're well-equipped in that position. We're not worried about that at all."

Bellingham started in the recent international break for a struggling England side, who drew 3-3 in a highly-entertaining game with Germany at Wembley. The midfielder earned huge praise as he continues to be hailed as a generational talent. Gary Neville said: “I loved Bellingham in that second half against Germany. I thought he was absolutely brilliant. I thought it was amazing really. To do that as a young player; he dragged the team forward."
