Jubilee properties worth their weight in diamonds – in pictures

Highfield House, a substantial country house near the village of Slindon, four miles from Arundel in West Sussex, comes with nine bedrooms, five bathrooms, a three-bed detached cottage, more than 10 acres of land and its own winery. Sold at auction in 1952 at around £28,000, it will now set you back £3.75m.

Back in the Coronation year 1952, estate agents Chesterton Humberts have records of a four-bed family house in the heart of London’s Chelsea up for sale at £4,600. This very similar four-bed, terraced town house in Rawlings Street is now on the market at £3.5m – a massive 760-fold increase in value.
