There was jubilant scenes in Dublin Airport today as the Irish rugby team set off for Japan.
The panel of 31 players embarked on their 9,582km trip as they gear up for the Rugby World Cup.
And Aer Lingus staff can be seen forming a guard of honour for the Boys in Green before they climbed on board the A320, which fittingly is painted with the Irish rugby livery.
The main event kicks off on September 20 with the hosts taking on Russia in Tokyo Stadium.
Ireland’s first match on September 22nd will be against familiar faces Sctoalnd in Yokohama City with a 8:45pm kick-off Irish time.


Last weekend, Ireland’s win over Wales saw them leapfrog New Zealand to earn the number one place on the World Rugby Rankings.
Joe Schmidt’s team will be hoping to go all the way, and fans have been quick to show support.
One said: “Let’s do this lads, more than good enough!”
“Safe trip, come on the boys in green!!”
Ireland are in Pool A along with Scotland, Japan, Russia and Samoa.
