Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir said on Thursday that finding a solution to the war in Syria would lead to a withdrawal of Iranian forces and their "terrorist militias" from the country.

Jubeir said there is consensus on beginning the political process in Syria after the formation of a constitutional committee.

He made his comment in Brussels where he attended a donor conference on Syria.

On the sidelines of the conference at the headquarters of the EU Parliament, Al-Jubeir met separately with Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad Hariri, UK’s Envoy to Syria Martin Longden, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock, US Envoy to Syria James Jeffrey, EU Deputy Secretary General of European External Action Service Jean-Christophe Belliard and UN Special Envoy to Syria Geir Pedersen.

During the meetings, a number of issues of common interest in addition to joint action for security, stability and unity in Syria were discussed, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The meetings were attended by a number of officials, SPA said.
