Jubeir Rejects Veering Khashoggi Case off Course of Saudi Justice

Saudi State Minister for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir rejected on Wednesday taking the murder case of citizen Jamal Khashoggi off its course.

Commenting on a recent UN report on the case, he tweeted that it offered “nothing new.”

“The report of the rapporteur in the human rights council contains clear contradictions and baseless allegations which challenge its credibility,” he added.

He stressed that the Saudi leadership has ordered that the necessary investigations be carried out. It led to the arrest of several suspects.

The investigations and trials are ongoing, Jubeir stated.

The Kingdom’s judicial authorities alone have jurisdiction in tackling this case and they are carrying out their duties with complete independence, he added.

The Kingdom firmly rejects any attempt to target its leadership or veer the case off its course of justice, he declared.

Saudi Arabia’s jurisdiction over this issue is not up for debate, he added.
