Juan Mata leads Manchester United teammates sending messages to match-winner Angel Gomes

Manchester United players were clearly delighted for academy star Angel Gomes after his first senior goal for the club secured victory against Tottenham.

United's 2-1 win over Spurs in Shanghai meant the club travel back to Manchester with a 100 per cent record from their four games in Australia, Singapore and China. Impressively, all nine goals scored on tour were scored or assisted by an academy graduate.

And Gomes' late winner against Spurs continued both of those records as he exchanged passes with Juan Mata before slotting in from an incredibly tight angle to finish a flowing move.

The goal was the least Gomes deserved from a productive pre-season, where he has shown Ole Gunnar Solskjaer what he can offer in the first team setup.

As United travelled back to the UK, players were quick to send messages of congratulations to Gomes for his landmark goal.
