Juan Foyth has become almost an entirely new player during his loan spell with Villarreal.
Foyth has often divided opinion at Tottenham since his arrival in 2017, making 16 Premier League appearances but rarely proving himself as the reliable centre-back Spurs need.
Since joining Villarreal on loan in the summer, Foyth still hasn't done that, but he has managed to become a player who looks to have a big future ahead, still only 23 years of age.
In his early days under Unai Emery at Estadio de la Ceramica, Foyth played as a holding midfielder, doing a very decent job until January, when former Tottenham star Etienne Capoue was assigned to play the position.
But since then, Foyth has become a right-back, and largely becoming Emery's first choice in the position despite Villarreal having a wealth of options with the experienced Mario Gaspar and Ruben Pena also competing for a right-back berth.
Barring a slip-up on Sunday against Barcelona which saw him give away the goal, Foyth has not put a foot wrong at Villarreal, and on Thursday night, he produced a masterclass to see off Arsenal in the Europa League semi-final first leg.
Foyth dominated the Gunners, marauding forward down the right, and even through the middle of the pitch, cutting inside while keeping Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe at bay defensively with Villarreal winning 2-1.
Though, he did go on to pull up with a hamstring injury in the second half.
Spurs fans aplenty spoke about Foyth's performance on social media on Thursday night, discussing just how impressive the Argentine was, but do Tottenham have any hope of getting him back now that he appears to be at his best?
In short, probably not.
Foyth's loan move to Villarreal came with an option-to-buy built into the deal, and that option is believed to be worth €15million (£13million).
As part of the deal, it's understood the Yellow Submarine paid all of his wages and they look set to take up the option ahead of the summer transfer window.
Impressed by what they have seen from Foyth, Villarreal are understood to be fully intent on signing Foyth permanently, and with that option already agreed, there's little Tottenham can do to stop that.
