Juan Alegria's Rangers transfer '90 percent' complete as shared ownership details are revealed

Rangers will own just 80 per cent of Colombian youngster Juan Alegria if they seal a deal for him, according to a report.

The striker is set to follow the blueprint set by Alfredo Morelos after moving to Finland before making his way to Glasgow with Rangers.

And the player's dad has confirmed in Colombia that Rangers are likely to be his next club, the but the Ibrox men are going to own just 80 per cent of the player.

That means 20 per cent of any future sale will go straight to the club's family with them retaining rights on the teen frontman.

Colombian football expert Simon Edwards has explained that Finnish side Honka own just 60 per cent of Alegria and Rangers will buy that, as well as 20 per cent of the family's 'shares' in the player.

The controversial third party ownership isn't outlawed by FIFA, but was in English football after incidents involving West Ham with Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez.

But Alegria's father has confirmed Rangers are likely to seal a deal for the 18-year-old attacker for him to join Steven Gerrard's men.

He said: "This step is close to being taken. It is already a matter of process between the Honka team and the Rangers club. At this moment we would be 90% in that Rangers is Juan's next team.
