Juan Alegria Rangers contract details revealed as 'shared ownership' agreement nears

Rangers signing prospect Juan Alegria's family are set to retain a 20 per cent stake in the striker - according to a report.

The 18-year-old Colombian youth international is expected to swap Honka for the Premiership league leaders with a deal close to being agreed.

Respected South American football expert Simon Edwards claims Rangers will own 80 per cent of the Alegria's rights with his family retaining a stake after conversations with the player's father.

The current agreement sees Honka owning 60 per cent but it's expected the Ibrox side will gain a more significant stake if a deal is ratified.

Alegria is a rising star and it appears sporting director Ross Wilson is looking to the future as he aims to tie up a deal for a player who has followed a similar career path to Ibrox talisman Alfredo Morelos.

El Bufalo spent time in Finland before his big move to Rangers in 2017 that has reaped rewards for a player who has become the club's all-time leading goalscorer in Europe.

It comes with Wilson keeping a keen eye on ways to improve the current squad as the Ibrox side aim to finally end Celtic's decade of domestic dominance over Scottish football.
