American international Juan Agudelo has revealed just how close he was to joining Celtic in 2012.
The striker had a trial with the Hoops during the Major League Soccer close season.
Manager Neil Lennon intimated that he'd like to sign the 20-year-old but ultimately a deal could not be reached.
That's just one of several failed moves, with a switch to Liverpool also collapsing.
He told the official MLS website : "I had three situations where (transfers) were scratched.
"I thought for sure I was going to go to Celtic.
"It was tough. I don’t know if I would have went to Liverpool and got loaned out, but I definitely wanted to go to Celtic. It was a place I was probably going to play."
Agudelo was close to winning a deal during his time with the Hoops, and is now at Inter Miami with former Celt Lewis Morgan.
Lennon said at the time: "He has looked very good, we have been very impressed with him.
"We are hoping he will stay around for a few more days and we can talk with his representatives.
"I haven't had the chance to sit down with everyone and discuss it but myself and my backroom team have been very impressed."
