Two years ago, LaVar Ball accomplished his dream of getting his oldest son, Lonzo Ball, to the NBA. However, as we all know, his dream didn’t stop with Lonzo. As he’s said on several different occasions in the past, LaVar wants to see his two others sons, LiAngelo and LaMelo, in the NBA as well.
It’s not an unrealistic dream by any means. In fact, there have been four other siblings trios in the NBA and one sibling quartet. Currently, there is only one: Jrue, Justin and Aaron Holiday.
Ironically, Jrue Holiday is now teammates with Lonzo as a result of the blockbuster trade that sent Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers. Lonzo also played alongside Aaron Holiday at UCLA. It’s for that reason TMZ caught up with Jrue’s parents, Toya and Shawn Holiday, to ask them if they had any advice for LaVar on how to get his three sons in the NBA. Here’s what they had to say:
Toya: “We didn’t get the three in there; they got themselves in there from their talent and hard work. We just kind of … we just kind of coached ’em and helped them to harness their skills to where they would be able to play basketball at that level.”
Shawn: “God’s grace. It’s not by our kids’ strength, I tell you: It’s God’s grace. But I think it’s awesome that LaVar wants his children there. That’s what we want as parents. You want them to have their dreams, so keep pushing it. I think that’s great.”
LaVar might have a steeper hill to climb than the Holidays did with their sons considering he wants all three of them on the same team, but it’s safe to say he and his sons have their support.
