JR Group construction appoints three new directors

Three new directors have been appointed to the board of Renfrewshire-based construction business JR Group in a move which has also seen them take stakes in the business.

The move comes as the Paisley-based group, which began as a scaffolding business and now provides construction and specialist building services throughout Scotland, targets significant growth in turnover to £30 million this year.

Aberdeen’s new £333 million event complex on track to open in summer, says contractor Henry Boot

Andrew Dallas becomes projects director, John Murdoch has been appointed construction director and Craig Whyte becomes commercial director.  The trio will join existing directors Gary McGregor and John Horne on the board from next week.

McGregor, who is managing director, said: “We have ambitious growth plans and to fulfil them we need to be attracting the best talent. Andrew, John and Craig all have a very different skill set and we are delighted they have taken up our offer. Their experience will add depth to the Board.”

Kier Construction swings to £35 million loss despite small increase in revenue

The group, which employs around 170 people, is also launching a new commercial property division and announced plans to develop its first bespoke private housing project.

Founded in 1995 by John Horne and his wife, Anne-Marie, the JR Group operates throughout Scotland and Northern England working on behalf of a number of housebuilders, registered social landlords and private clients.
