JPMorgan Chase & Co. trader Roy Aviner left the bank earlier this month and plans to join London-based BlueCrest Capital Management, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.
Aviner, who traded interest-rate swaps at JPMorgan, will join BlueCrest later this year, the person said, asking not to be identified because he’s not authorized to speak on the matter. BlueCrest spokesman Ed Orlebar and a JPMorgan spokesman in London declined to comment. Aviner didn’t respond to an e-mail and a telephone call seeking comment.
BlueCrest said in December it would return about $7 billion in client money to focus on managing its billionaire founder Michael Platt’s wealth and that of his partners and employees. At the time, the firm said it expects strong growth in the number of trading teams and assets under management.
Nikki Martin and Tom Ayres started working at BlueCrest as money managers in London this month, Orlebar said. Both previously worked at Ivaldi Capital LLP.
