JP McManus was among the mourners who gathered to pay their respects to legendary punter and former horse racing trainer Barney Curley on Tuesday.
Some of the biggest names in racing turned out for the funeral in Newmarket, with jockeys Frankie Dettori, Jamie Spencer, Tom Queally and Shane Kelly carrying the coffin.
Just under 50 people were allowed into the Our Lady Immaculate and St Etheldreda Catholic Church for the funeral due to social distancing rules, with McManus among them.
The Limerick businessman was pictured speaking to Dettori outside the church, with both men wearing face masks.
Father James O’Kane, a missionary who worked with Curley in Zambia for some 30 years, co-hosted the funeral service and told those in attendance that "Barney didn't just give a little back, he gave everything".
The Fermanagh native passed away at his home in Newmarket last month at the age of 81, with tributes pouring in from all around the world.
Dettori said: "He's been a friend for over 30 years. He took me under his wing when I was young. He taught me a lot about life. He was a great friend, gave lots of advice and I travelled the country with him to every racecourse.
"I even went to a retreat in Galway with the priests because he wanted to be a priest when he was young. We did lots of things. We went on holidays together. I rode for him.
"Until his death I was with him and I'm so pleased that I met him, but also so sad."
AP McCoy described Curley as "a man with well founded legendary status as a trainer/gambler, but one who also raised lots for the charity Direct Aid for Africa" following his death.
Curley's body was buried at Newmarket Cemetery, which is located close to the Rowley Mile Racecourse.
