A car was found engulfed in flames in a field after being set on fire by joyriders.
Fire crews tackled the blaze on King George’s Fields in Widnes on Wednesday night for over an hour.
Photos taken at the scene, show the extent of the fire as flames tore through the windows and bonnet of the car.
Another photo taken after the flames were extinguished, shows the completely destroyed car, as a result of the fire.
Posting on Twitter after the incident, a spokesperson from Widnes Fire Station said: "Last night white watch attended a deliberate vehicle fire on King George’s Fields.
"Whoever done this had been joyriding around the fields prior to burning it out.
"This is not acceptable and all information has been passed to @policewidnes."
