Joy for Lynn as she halves in size

It took a colossal amount of effort but Lynn Templeton admits herself she was colossal.

At more than 18-and-a-half stone she reached her lowest ebb when her 11-year-old son remarked she “wasn’t fun any more.”

But just look at her now as a size 10, tipping the scales at just 10st 10lb – not too far away from half her previous weight.

Mum-of-two Lynn was a size 26 dress and on a junk food journey that was not helped by the sweeties at the filling station where she worked.

Now she has her confidence back and enjoys swimming at New Cumnock open air pool in her bikini.

Lynn, from Cumnock, said: “My diet used to consist of multipacks of crisp, junk food, takeaways four times a week, lots of potato scones and no portion control.

“Now I am eating lots of fresh fruit and salads, home-made chicken curry and lots of eggs.”

She credits the WW programme at the Mercure Hotel in Ayr for turning her life around at the age of 35.

Lynn now works in a “dream job” at a care home and goes to the gym up to four times a week to keep herself toned.

She said: “My son’s words horrified me and made me realise it was time to do something about my weight.

“I was very upset and I wanted his mum to be fun again.”

At her heaviest she struggled to tie her shoelaces and would go to bed early because she was sore, avoiding family and friends.

Lynn credits her WW coach Christine Mitchell for her transformation.

She said: “Its always daunting to join these workshops but you really have nothing to worry about. I found it helpful other people were facing the same fight.

“While attending my weekly workshops I noticed a few of the members wearing Fitbits and often they’d commented on how easy they were to use and how they help motivate them to keep up their active steps and exercise.

“I decided to get one the following week and I saw a great improvement in my walking and general activity.

“I loved the WW Freestyle plan and, along with more exercise, I saw a great impact on my weight loss every week.

“The WW app covers a lot of places like Greggs, M&S and KFC so I don’t have to miss out.”

Her weight loss was crowned when she scaled Goat Fell on Arran with her partner Steven.
