Joy as kitten abandoned on M1 gets a happy ending with new home

A kitten found by the side of the M1 has been rehomed after being rescued by police.

Officers found the cat by the motorway near Lurgan on Sunday and put out an appeal for the owners to get in touch.

The PSNI tweeted the news at the time saying: "Found on the M1 near Lurgan by Roads Policing, Mahon Road. If you know who owns it, or are the owner, please contact RPU at Mahon Road. Thanks."

Yesterday, NI Road Policing and Safety posted an update on the fortunate feline, saying: "Wee update on the found kitten. This wee dote has been checked over by a vet and given the all-clear.

"The kitten has now been adopted by a caring animal lover and will now be very well looked after. Thank you to all of you who sent best wishes and enquiring to adopt."
