Iranian officials have taken the rare step of allowing 20 journalists to visit parts of the capital's notorious Evin prison. Justice minister Jamal Karimi-Rad is eager dispel "unfair impressions" of the jail ahead of next week's first session of the new United Nations Human Rights Council. The journalists were shown around a women's wing with 375 inmates, many of whom are young women serving sentences for illicit relations with men. (Via The Moscow Times)
