Journalists give up shaving for charity

Staff at Kentish Times Newspapers have been so impressed by their readers' money-raising efforts on behalf of the paper's guide dog campaign that the male journalists are now holding a sponsored beard-growing contest. The contestants stopped shaving yesterday. Doubtless, with £3,700 already raised, they hope to come within a whisker of the £5,000 target necessary to fund a puppy through its guide dog training course. (Via Gravesend Reporter)
