Journalist reports in neck-deep water during extreme flooding in Pakistan

A journalist has caught international attention after reporting live from neck-deep flood water in Pakistan.

Azadar Hussain works for national news channel GTV in Kot Chutta, a district in Punjab province.

The report on 25 July followed six days of torrential rain that saw northern Pakistan covered in deep water.

GTV posted the clip on their YouTube channel which led to the clip being shared around the world.

Dozens of people have been killed because of flash floods, electrocutions and roof collapses since the beginning of monsoon season this month.

The port city of Karachi was hit by flooding this week as heavy monsoon rains moved to the south of the country. The extreme weather has claimed the lives of six people since Monday.

More heavy rains are expected next week, according to the Pakistani meteorological department.
