Jill Carroll, the journalist who spent 82 days as a kidnap hostage in Iraq, is telling her story this week in her US paper, the Christian Science Monitor. It has been a fascinating tale. The third instalment, published yesterday, told how her captors tried to convert her to Islam, how they revealed they had previously kidnapped a French female journalist [Florence Aubenas of Liberation who was freed after five months in 2005], and how she had trouble convincing the gunmen that she did not have a computer chip in her body linked to the US military. It also details how she was forced to make her first video recording. (Via Christian Science Monitor)
