New York Times journalist Lindsay Crouse has compared herself to Lady Gaga after her boyfriend of seven years dumped her for the popstar.
The paper's senior staff editor Lindsay, 35, opened up about what it's like to find out your ex is dating a famous face in her latest opinion piece .
The writer realised that her ex boyfriend Michael Polansky was Lady Gaga's new "mystery man" one day after the Super Bowl.
After finding out she was going up against a superstar, she wrote: "How do you compare yourself with Lady Gaga?

"Lady Gaga is amazing. Comparing yourself with her is incredibly motivational, and I recommend you try it, regardless of how you relate to who's dating her."
She admitted she had unfollowed her ex on social media, but a photo uploaded by Gaga, who was sat in her new boyfriend's lap, came up in Lindsay's feed.
She wrote: "Friends from college liked it, along with nearly three million others."

Lindsay explained it wasn't as traumatic as you'd expect when she recalled the moment the pair began appearing in magazines and on news websites.
The singer and Harvard graduate Michael, who runs the Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, are likely to have known each other for some time before they got together, according to The New York Post .
The new couple were first seen together in Vegas over the New Year, before being pictured kissing in Miami ahead of the Super Bowl 2020 concert.

Lindsay's friends contacted her the following day to bring up the snaps of Gaga and Michael kissing.
She recalled: "I was eating bodega grapes at my desk on a recent Monday morning, gearing up to wrangle my inbox, when my phone started buzzing."
Crouse continued: "While I'd been watching the Super Bowl on television in New York, they were snuggling in her private box at the Hard Rock Stadium at Miami Gardens.
"There were the paparazzi as he escorted her away, her pink hair flowing and sequins pasted around her eyes."
News of the relationship spread across headlines and every major media outlet, with the journalist's mum reading about the new couple.
