Joules bringing in Moneysupermarket finance director Caroline York as its CFO

Country casual clothes chain Joules is bringing in Moneysupermarket finance director Caroline York as its new chief financial officer.

The fashion and accessories brand, which is based in Market Harborough in Leicestershire, said she will join Joules by September.

Prior to joining the FTSE250 price comparison website, Ms York held senior finance posts at Heathrow & BAA and, before that, at Atos KPMG and PwC.

She said: “Joules is a brand I have long admired and I am delighted to be joining as the group’s new CFO.

“The business has a very exciting future with significant opportunities to expand the brand and continue to develop its first-class digital proposition.

“I am looking forward to joining the team and helping the business to continue create value for all stakeholders.”

Joules announced in January that current CFO Marc Dench will step down from the board on May 11, but will remain available a consultancy capacity to ensure a smooth transition.

In the meantime, the business is making Jon Dargie, currently Joules’ finance controller, its interim CFO, reporting directly to the board.

Joules chairman Ian Filby said: “We are delighted to announce Caroline’s appointment as CFO and look forward to welcoming her to the group in the coming months.

“Caroline’s extensive experience in senior finance roles at strong consumer brands and digital-led businesses made her the stand-out candidate for the role.

“I would like to reiterate our thanks to Marc for his significant contribution to Joules during his time with the Group and his commitment to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.”

Chief executive Nick Jones said: “We are delighted that Caroline is going to be our next CFO and I am looking forward to working closely with her to deliver the next chapter of Joules’ long-term growth and development. “I have no doubt that Caroline’s extensive understanding of digital and brand-led businesses will be of great value to Joules moving forward.”
