Jota to Celtic permanent transfer gets blessing from AC Milan rising star

Celtic's move to sign Jota on a permanent basis has been given a big thumbs up by AC Milan forward Rafael Leao.

Portugal international Leao, 22, appears to have been keeping a close eye on his compatriot's development in Glasgow this season, and seemed delighted by news that his pal is on the brink of joining the Hoops permanently from Benfica.

Jota has been one of Celtic's outstanding performers throughout the current campaign with eight goals to his name and seven assists, and has already referred to his spell in Scotland as the 'best moment' of his fledgling career.

And Leao took to Twitter to share reports that his former Portugal under-21s team-mate could be set to complete a £6.5million move to Parkhead, and accompanied his tweet with several emojis expressing how thrilled he is at the prospect:

Leao has enjoyed a solid campaign of his own with the Serie A giants, having played in 15 of their 16 league matches so far and scoring five goals in all competitions.

Ange Postecoglou will be hoping Jota recovers quickly from a hamstring injury with the Premier Sports Cup final against Hibs and the Premiership showdown against bitter rivals Rangers looming on the horizon.
