Jota responds to Celtic lookalike claim as he heads to Spotify for George Michael research

Smirking Jota has addressed Celtic fans lookalike claims during a Q&A session with supporters.

Since signing on-loan from Benfica, punters have pointed out the similarities between the 22-year-old and 80s sensation George Michael.

Maybe the Wham! singer wasn't as big of a hit in Portugal as Jota admits he hadn't heard of him.

In fact, he had to find a favourite song from the singer on Spotify ahead of going live on Instagram - as he knew it would come up.

He told Celtic's followers: “I know there’s a thing between me and George Michael going on, people say that we are very look-alike, I just wanted to say that I know he was a great singer.

“I’m going to keep 100% true with you guys, that I’ve just [listened on] Spotify a minute ago so I could say the song to you. And I would say that my favourite song would be ‘Father Figure’.

“Yeah. That’s a good one.”

He fielded fan questions after insisting Celtic critics have got to have faith Ange Postecoglou can turn the season around.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of facing Bayer Leverkusen, Jota said: "We are still only in September.

“Last time I checked there are no champions in September.

So I think we just have to play game by game. I think we have to learn from the things we do wrong, develop, and just be a better team.

“So the championship will end in May, I think, and then we can speak about that."
