Jota ready to learn Japanese to improve Kyogo Furuhashi devastating link-up

Jota admits he's ready to learn Japanese to improve his connection with Celtic teammate Kyogo Furuhashi.

The pair have already developed a promising relationship despite the considerable language barrier.

Japan star Furuhashi is still learning to speak English after moving to Scotland in the summer.

But Portugal under-21 international Jota is prepared to take Japanese lessons to ensure they link-up in devastating style, as they did against Ferencvaros on Tuesday in the Europa League at Parkhead.

"I’m starting to get to know Kyogo and his movements are unbelievable," Jota said.

"He really can move, he’s one of the best players I’ve seen doing movements.

“On Tuesday I saw his move and I wanted to do the pass. It was good because he took the ball really well and scored.

“Unfortunately Kyogo doesn’t speak English at the moment so it’s been quite difficult to speak with him.

“Actually it’s funny because I said to Kyogo if he didn’t learn English then it’s no worries to me because I will try to learn some Japanese so we can talk.

“I will definitely go to learn some Japanese to speak with him, but I think the most important thing is inside the pitch we are starting to get to know each other.

“Game after game, we are going to get better.”
