Jota Celtic exit 'done deal' as £25m Al-Ittihad transfer switch agreed

Jota has reportedly completed his mega-money Celtic transfer exit.

The winger, 24, is thought to have agreed a £200,000-a-week contract with Saudi club Al-Ittihad.

And the Scottish Sun report Celtic have completed talks over a bumper £25million transfer fee.

Jota made his loan from Benfica to Celtic permanent last summer - for around £6.5m -but is set to make a move one year on with life-changing money on the table in Saudi Arabia.

The report claims Jota is in Dubai and has passed a medical ahead of the transfer move being confirmed by both clubs. The player had been pictured finalising his move.

Jota will reportedly pen a three-year deal with the Saudi club and join Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante in his new surroundings.

It's thought Al-Ittihad manager Nuno Espirito Santo has been keen on Jota for a year and is now set to clinch a deal to sign the forward.

Rodgers had also been looking forward to working with Jota but could not deny the player the sensational move.

While Celtic will pocket a handsome profit on Jota, Benfica will be due a significant sell-on fee thought to be 30 per cent.

Celtic players returned to Lennoxtown on Monday for the first day of pre-season training under new boss Brendan Rodgers.

However, Jota was posted missing as players and backroom staff arrive at the club training base.

One new face was spotted, though, with fitness and performance coach Glenn Driscoll back at Celtic to assist Rodgers having previously worked with the manager at Parkhead.

Celtic have made two signings themselves so far this summer with Thiago Odin Holm and Marco Tilio joining the club.
