Former Leeds United man impressed by ‘unbelievable’ Stuart Dallas
Noel Whelan described Stuart Dallas’ performance for Leeds United in their 1-0 away win over Sheffield United on Sunday as “unbelievable.”
The 29-year-old left back came in for a lot of praise after his impressive display at Bramall Lane and Whelan has added to this, identifying the crucial role Dallas played in the victory for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
“His work rate, his effort, the number of positions he got himself into, whether that be offensively or defensively to help the side. His energy levels were unbelievable,” the former Leeds United forwards told Football Insider .
“When I look at Stuart Dallas and what he brings to that side, his energy, his quality, his class. He’s vital to them. He very nearly scored a goal from a position he had no right to be in, quite frankly.
“He’s playing left-back and he’s in more of a forward position than Patrick Bamford! That just shows the desire that he has to go and win a game of football. He’ll do whatever it takes and is willing to make those runs.”
Defender reveals reasons for rejecting Leeds United for RB Leipzig
Josko Gvardiol has opened up on his decision to join RB Leipzig over Leeds United, underlining the importance of being able to stay on loan at Dinamo Zagreb for the season.
The Whites were interested in signing the young defender this summer, but lost out to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig who allowed Gvardiol to stay at his boyhood club in Croatia for the rest of the season.
“I'm happy and excited. I'll get back here and continue with the training and prepare for Thursday,” Gvardiol explained in an interview translated by Croatian Scout on Twitter.
“The agreement goes in my favour. I hope it will be beneficial to me to prepare for a top-five league, the Bundesliga.”
Arsenal react to former striker’s hat-trick for Leeds United U23s
Sam Greenwood struck a hat-trick for Leeds United’s Under-23s, sending Arsenal fans into meltdown after the North London club allowed the striker to leave this summer.
The 18-year-old made the move to Elland Road and has hit the ground running for Leeds United second string side, netting three times against Sunderland after scoring against Wolves earlier in the month.
Greenwood’s performances have prompted an outcry from Arsenal fans who question why their club was willing to let such a promising young talent leave the club.
