Josip Juranovic reveals Celtic transfer advice from Artur Boruc as he aims to wow with Legia wonder strike repeat

Josip Juranovic admits he was sold on Celtic by Hoops hero Artur Boruc – and boss Ange Postecoglou’s swashbuckling style.

The £2.6m signing from Legia Warsaw has checked in to Parkhead and was handed the No. 88 shirt previously worn by Gary Hooper and Eboue Kousassi.

Croatia cap Juranovic is ineligible for the Europa League second leg clash with AZ Alkmaar but he is bang in the frame for a dramatic debut in Sunday’s Old Firm showdown at Ibrox.

The 26-year-old insisted he’s raring to go after Celtic were given a rave review by Legia legend and former Hoops hero Boruc.

Juranovic is determined to follow the success of his Polish pal and he revealed he was fully on board when he got to see the attacking play from Postecoglou’s side.

He said: “Artur said it was a great opportunity for me. It’s a big stage and a great club.

“He’s also part of the reason I am here.

“I want to see myself on this stage and I want to give everything here.”

Juranovic has done his homework, he has been studying Postecoglou’s style of play and feels he’ll fit right in.

He said: “I’m a team player, I want to show my ability in defending, but also crossing, assisting, running, pushing, and giving everything to win the game.

“I’ve watched the games this season and the team look really good. I like the manager’s style of attacking football and the fact that every player plays in the opposing team’s half. I’m really looking forward to playing in this system.”

Juranovic signed off from Legia in sensational fashion with a 25-yard rocket in the Europa League clash with Slavia Prague last week.

The Croatia star –who faced Scotland at Hampden in the Euros – was just as stunned with the strike but he’d love to repeat the feat at Parkhead.

He said: “I received the ball on the halfway line and saw the space, I ran into it and after a few seconds I thought about having a shot.

“I didn’t believe I’d scored at first but after about five seconds I was really happy.

“You can see my celebration was a total disaster, but I really enjoyed the moment.

“Can I do something similar at Celtic Park? I hope so!”
