Josip Juranovic in Celtic transfer blow as Legia Warsaw 'set to pull the plug' on latest right back target

Celtic target Josip Juranovic is looking increasingly likely to remain with Legia Warsaw, according to reports in Poland.

The Croat emerged as Ange Postecoglou 's top right-back target and a £3million deal appeared to

Juranovic was been told he's free to leave Legia if the price is right following the Polish side's elimination from the Champions League.

However, reports now claim that that the club have performed a u-turn leading Celtic to turn to other options.

Polish outlet Sport say the chances of a deal have dropped to "50-50" with the current Ekstraklasa champions "not convinced it is the right time to sell" the player.

They note that the hold up, with the Premiership side desperate for a right-back to battle with Anthony Ralston, has led Celtic to explore other options and the deal "collapsing."

Manchester City kid Yan Couto was at Celtic Park to watch the demolition of Jablonec in the Europa League and looks to be the next option the Parkhead chiefs turn to.

Juranovic moved to Poland from Hajduk Split in 2020 and has made 36 appearances for Legia, scoring one goal and registering nine assists.

He also caught the eye with Croatia at Euro 2020 where he faced off against Scotland at Hampden.

The report also notes that boss Czesław Michniewicz has confirmed Juranovic will miss this weekend's game having picked up a knock against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League exit.
