Josip Juranovic in Borna Barisic admission as Celtic and Rangers countrymen keep their distance

Josip Juranovic confessed he's seeing very little of countryman Borna Barisic in Glasgow.

The Celtic star revealed he's only seen his Rangers rival outside of football once since making a move to Parkhead during the summer transfer window.

The pair competed against each other during Rangers' 1-0 derby win at Ibrox earlier in the season.

Juranovic and Barisic are currently away on international duty as Croatia prepare for their World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Russia.

Juranovic stated: ”I play all the time, I'm satisfied.

“I’ve only been with Borna once. We haven't gone to lunch or dinner.”

The Croatians will be out to help their national team to take maximum points that would see them win Group I and guarantee their place at next year’s World Cup finals in Qatar.

The Celtic defender claimed: "We all have a focus on Malta, we know that our first goal is three points against it. Only then will we turn to Russia. As far as quality is concerned, everything is on our side. We have to take the ball and solve the matter.”

The make or break game looks to be the game with leader Russia on Sunday. It will see the game played at Juranovic’s former home in Split and he knows it will be a hostile home atmosphere.

“I’m looking forward to it."

"We all know what awaits us in Split, but I must reiterate that we are focused on Malta. The key will be team spirit, perseverance, patience and fast play," he added.

“If we can win in Malta then people will be even happier and we will finally have the atmosphere we are all waiting for, cheering from the first to the last minute. We will have to prove why we are in the Croatian national team and give people even more reason to rejoice.” he said. in Split.

"Against us we expect them to play in the low block, we expect that, but it's all up to us and how we set up from the first minute. If we take the ball and move forward there shouldn't be any problems."
