Josip Juranovic Celtic transfer fee 'revealed' as Hoops star 'given permission' to fly to Germany

Josip Juranovic looks set to net Celtic a deal that could reach £10million after he was given permission to travel to Germany, according to a report.

The Hoops full-back - who joined the club 18 months ago from Legia Warsaw in a £2.5million deal - has been a key player under Ange Postecoglou and his performances at the World Cup Finals in Qatar for Croatia have alerted many clubs. His display in the quarter-final win over Brazil grabbed the headlines with many pundits praising the defender. He now appears very close to an exit from the Scottish champions with Sky Sports reporting an initial £7.5m fee that could rise to £10m has been agreed and he has been given the green light to travel to Union Berlin.

Celtic have already snapped up fellow World Cup star Alistair Johnston, with the full-back already admitting to settling down in Glasgow after a whirlwind start to his career in Scotland. He was thrown in at the deep-end against Rangers for an Old Firm debut and will play a key role with Juranovic's departure imminent. Anthony Ralston, who has also impressed under Postecoglou, is also making his way back and will provide further competition in the right-back area.

Juranovic has played 53 times for Celtic in all competitions and netted six goals with three assists to his name. He leaves with trophy success after a Scottish Premiership and Premier Sports Cup - now rebranded as the Viaplay Cup - triumph last term. He also picked up Champions League experience this season in a tough section alongside Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk and RB Leipzig.

Speaking about transfers yesterday in his press conference, Postecoglou said: “At the moment, progress on incomings and outgoings but nothing confirmed yet. Obviously we are getting to the tail end of the window and I expect progress over the next few days.”

When asked if striker Giorgos Giakoumakis - who is another linked with a move away - will still be a Celtic player by the end of January, Postecoglou said: “Until I know or hear otherwise, I expect them all to be Celtic players but there has been progress with all those kinds of issues. I guess over the next few days we will see how it all plays out.”
