Josie Gibson saved Love Island's Malin Andersson from suicide after her baby died

Malin Andersson has revealed how Josie Gibson saved her from taking her own life after her baby girl died.

Her beautiful daughter Consy, who was born at 33 weeks, died from a severe heart condition in January when she was just four weeks old.

The Love Island star, 26, has admitted that she started "collecting tablets" with which to end her life when she knew her baby wouldn't make it.

But that was when Big Brother winner Josie, 34 — who she had never met — stepped in and offered her support.

Speaking on Yahoo News’ White Wine Question Time podcast, Malin said she was drinking every night to cope with her grief.

She explained: "When she passed away, I locked myself away for about three weeks. I just drank wine every night, I didn’t want to speak to anybody.

"[When Consy was in ICU] I was too scared to touch her, because of the wires and everything. And I was slowly collecting tablets by the way, because I was thinking, ‘If she’s going to go, f**k, I’m going too.’ Because what else have I got to live for here? I haven’t got a family to go back to.”

Malin was still reeling from the loss of her mum, also named Consy, who had died from cancer in November 2017.

Josie reached out, having previously swapped pregnancy advice with her over Instagram .

She told Malin during the recording: "I cried so much for you because we were sharing our stories the whole way through, and then... I didn’t sleep for two nights. I was so upset for you."

Josie, who is mum to nine-month-old Reggie, began gathering celebs to record video messages of support for Malin, including Kym Marsh, Charlote Crosby and Ferne McCann.

Malin said: "They actually made such a difference. She was just giving me support that was very much needed at the time. And no one else really knew what to say to me. But she just put herself out there.”

The brunette has continued to be open about her grief since her tragic loss.

Malin Andersson posts about loneliness after Sophie Gradon inquest

In April she took to Instagram to say "loneliness kills " on the same day as the inquest into her friend Sophie Gradon's death.

She wrote: "One thing I've learned is you can be surrounded by loads of people and can still be lonely. These people aren't good for you."

It had been ruled that Sophie took her own life after taking cocaine and enough alcohol to put her two-and-a-half times over the legal driving limit.
