Josie Gibson replaces Holly Willoughby as This Morning confirm presenter shake-up

This Morning has confirmed Josie Gibson is set to front the show again.

The Bristolian presenter was drafted in as a last minute change last month after usual host Holly Willoughby was struck down with a stomach illness.

Josie's stint alongside Phillip Schofield was a resounding success as fans praised her down-to-earth broadcasting style.

Fans were disappointed when Josie returned to her more familiar role presenting the show's Dosh on Your Doorstep segment the following week and demanded she feature in a more prominent position.

ITV bosses have listened to the call from viewers as the 36-year-old is set to return to the iconic sofa on Monday's episode.

Regular hosts Holly and Phil are taking a well-earned holiday before presenting the Christmas Day edition of This Morning - and they announced Josie will be anchoring the next show alongside Vernon Kay in their farewell message.

Holly said: "We'll be back with you at 10am on Christmas morning - and Josie Gibson and Vernon Kay will be here to keep you company on Monday."

Phil added a thank you message to all the This Morning staff members who work behind the scenes on the show.

He added: "They've been here through the good times, the challenging times and everything in between. We literally couldn't do it without you."

An advert broadcast in Friday's programme revealed Rochelle Humes will take over from Josie on Tuesday and will front This Morning alongside Vernon Kay until Thursday.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub
