Joshua King explains failed Manchester United transfer and reiterates Old Trafford 'dream'

Joshua King says it would be "amazing" to seal a return to Manchester United after seeing a proposed transfer collapse in January.

King, 28, was heavily linked with United - the club he signed for as a 16-year-old - during the January transfer window, but the Red Devils opted to sign Odion Ighalo on loan.

Norway international King scored six Premier League goals last season as Bournemouth were relegated to the Championship, but the forward is still dreaming of a move back to Old Trafford.

"I will not lie, because I really wanted to go there in January, but what happened, happened," he told TV2.

"I know why things happened. We’ll just have to wait and see. There is a lot that is open.

"I have a dream to play in the Champions League.

"Whether it will happen this season or in two years, I do not know.

"But I have a dream about it that all boys have.

"What if United are still interested? That would be amazing.

"I was at United for five years and I learned lot there."

United have signed Donny van de Beek for £40million this summer, while their priority attacking target remains Jadon Sancho - but Borussia Dortmund's £108m fee and the player's personal demands have made a potential deal difficult.
