Josh Taylor wins his first world title after securing points victory over Ivan Baranchyk in Glasgow

Josh Taylor has been crowned the new IBF super-lightweight champion after a hard-fought victory over Ivan Baranchyk in Glasgow.

Taylor wins his first world title after securing a majority decision victory in just his 15th professional fight.

The Edinburgh southpaw also progresses to the World Boxing Super Series final, where he will have the chance to add more gold when he takes on WBA champion Regis Prograis.

In a fiercely-fought contest, Taylor took control when he dropped his opponent with a huge right in the sixth round.

While Baranchyk was able to get to his feet, he was unable to withstand the pressure and was dropped again after another vicious flurry in the closing stages of the round.
