Josh Taylor clashes with Jose Ramirez' camp and insists he was 'ambushed' in incredible eruption

Josh Taylor insists he was ambushed after being involved in an incredible eruption on the eve of his super fight with Jose Ramirez.

The Tartan Tornado and his rival were involved in a fiery exchange at the weigh in – and then the camps clashed in the aftermath.

Taylor has been riling up Ramirez over the last 48 hours and was met by an angry mob in the halls of the Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas.

The flashpoint threatened to boil over until security stepped in to separate both sides.

Taylor said on Twitter: “We walked out to an ambush of about 50 Mexicans against about six of us in Team Taylor.

“We don’t give a f***. Let’s go.”

Unbeaten Taylor is bidding to become Britain’s first undisputed world boxing champion with all four light welterweight belts on the line against Ramirez on Saturday.

Both fighters weighed in comfortably under the limit at 139.6lbs.

Taylor will bid for glory on the day his beloved Hibs take on St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup Final, in what he will hope can be a sensational double success.
