Josh Rosen staying grounded but ready to prove himself to Dolphins

New Miami Dolphins quarterback Josh Rosen met with the South Florida media this afternoon and came across as quite grounded and understanding that there’s no room for assumptions during his tenure in Miami.

Rosen was grilled by media members — many of whom were searching for a gold mine quote. One referenced Rosen’s quote from the 2018 NFL Draft, stating that nine teams had made a mistake in the draft by passing over Rosen — who was drafted 10th.

Does Rosen now feel like the whole league has made a mistake? He cracked a grin when as much was insinuated at today’s press conference.

“I’d like to give you the quote that you want. But for the most part, I’m going day by day,” he said. Rosen talked during his press conference about getting better at the little things. He made sure to go in depth about the perception of him as “entitled”.

But most importantly, Rosen came across and genuinely understanding that the NFL is a business and he needs to be a consistent presence in the locker room and a reliable player in order to stick with the Dolphins.

“I’m just trying to get off on the right foot with all these guys here,” said Rosen.

But that doesn’t mean Josh isn’t eager to prove the Cardinals wrong — and the Dolphins right. Any time a player gets passed over, especially one who really didn’t get a fair shake of things, it’s going to linger in their head. And Rosen’s mindful that he’s got something to prove.

“I don’t think my chip (on my shoulder) needs to grow anymore, I might tip over.”
