Josh Rosen is first in the building for beginning of offseason workouts

While there continues to be talk about the future of quarterback Josh Rosen with the Arizona Cardinals, the team has officially begun its offseason program. Rosen not only was there but he was there first.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, he was the first in the building on Monday as the Cardinals began offseason workouts.

The Cardinals, who have the No. 1 pick in the 2019 draft, are expected by many to use it to draft Rosen’s replacement, Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray. The Cardinals would seek a trade to move Rosen if that were to happen. However, thus far, Arizona has not actively shopped Rosen, although they have taken calls and reportedly have been given trade offers.

Other players in similar situations have stayed away from the team facility as offseason programs begin but not Rosen.

According to former teammate Markus Golden, Rosen was also first in the building as a rookie last year after he was drafted.

Rosen’s work ethic came under fire earlier in the offseason by former NFL GM Charlie Casserly. This shows that report might be less than accurate, although his being the first in the building also probably allowed him to leave before reporters were granted access Monday morning to speak to players on hand.

With nothing new in terms of reports, this is all we know for now — Rosen is still on the team and is presumably the starting quarterback, and he is also participating in the voluntary part of the offseason despite rumors.

Anything beyond that is just a guess, at least until something actually happens.
