Josh Robinson reveals mental battles following comeback from injury

Josh Robinson has revealed he is still dealing with the effects of his horrific head injury as he bids to build up the consistency levels in his game.

The big centre back is back playing again after he suffered a shattered eye socket, cheekbone and lost teeth following an accidental collision during a league game against Linfield at the start of September

Robinson admitted he feared he had suffered a life-changing injury and questioned if he would play again.

Thankfully he has made a full recovery but the 29-year-old has revealed his frustration at some parts of his game which has led to him questioning if it is to do with his injury or something else.

"After Tuesday's game against Glenavon I was thinking it's one good game, one poor game for me, I'm lacking momentum," Robinson said after starring in Crusaders' 2-0 win over Coleraine.

"It's been difficult to deal with that. If I don't play well, is it because of the injury or what is it?

"I've struggled to build up momentum but hopefully next week I can build on from today's performance.

"It's difficult because you're also questioning if it's the injury, if it's mental or physical?

"When you're not playing well you have to dig deep and thankfully today went well.

"I feel I have to be fully-hearted, going in for everything. If you don't you'll be found out at Crusaders. Hopefully build up the mental side."
