Josh Norman rips division rival Dave Gettleman: ‘He’s winning for us’

Some people prefer to live and let live. Former Panthers cornerback Josh Norman is not one of them. Norman has no shortage of rivalries around the league. His most bitter one may be with Odell Beckham, but he’s also definitely not a fan of his old general manager, Dave Gettleman.

To be fair, Norman has a legitimate beef. After all, Gettleman revoked Norman’s franchise tag, essentially allowing him to walk in free agency. Soon after, Washington signed Norman to a five-year, $75 million deal. While that episode is now three years in the past, Norman still sounds a little bitter about his exit from the Panthers.

Norman was a guest on the Rich Eisen show earlier this week and spoke at length about Gettleman, who is now the GM of the division rival Giants.

Gettleman has been getting roasted in the media ever since he picked Duke QB Daniel Jones with the No. 6 overall pick in the NFL draft. Making lame excuses to justify the pick hasn’t helped. To make matters worse, Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins, arguably the top QB in this class, wound up falling to the Redskins at No. 15.

Norman says Gettleman is helping Washington win. Watch.

Norman may be biased, but that doesn’t mean he’s wrong.

The Panthers will get to see him again this coming season. Washington will visit Carolina Week 13. Norman’s new team won the last meeting in 2018, 23-17. He posted four solo tackles and an interception.
