Josh Norman on Dwayne Haskins: ‘He has no fear’

Any Washington Redskins fan knows that cornerback Josh Norman is not one to shy away from a war of words, even if it is between teammates in practice.

It appears that Norman has found a new suitor in rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

According to Les Carpenter, with the Washington Post, Haskins and Norman have traded words a couple of times in spring camp so far this year. After joining the team for minicamp following an eventful offseason, Norman asked to be placed in a goalline drill with Haskins under center.

The result was a pass play on which Norman jumped in front of a receiver to attempt an interception. And while he might have slipped out of bounds, a message was delivered.

“He didn’t say nothing to me, but a couple plays later, as we went back to the next team, he was like, ‘Yeah you got me, [but] that’s okay because I’m going to come back with you next time,’ ” Norman later said.

If you look past the fact that Haskins gave up a goalline interception, it is easy to view the exchange between the two in a positive light. Norman has long been the team’s heart and soul on defense, never backing down from a fight. Now it appears that that same mentality exists on the offensive side of the ball as well.

“He has no fear,” Norman said.
