Josh McPake's Rangers transfer options as English clubs line up to take promising youngster on loan

Rangers youngster Josh McPake is wanted on-loan by Harrogate Town and Forest Green Rovers.

The English pair, along with Salford City, all want to land the winger when next month’s transfer window opens.

McPake is set to complete a successful loan with Morton, where he shone under David Hopkin before the manager stepped down at Cappielow.

McPake will return to Rangers, with his next loan stint likely to be in England.

Harrogate are currently enjoying their first season in the Football League.

Town manager Simon Weaver has already made a successful raid to Scotland to sign former Celtic wing back Calvin Miller.

Forest Green are pushing at the top end of League Two and they are also keen on McPake having had Jack Aitchison from Celtic last season.

Salford are also interested but McPake knows it will be a tougher gig to get first-team football there.

The youngster had his own spell at Dundee last season but it was cut short by injury.

The 19-year-old is tipped for big things at Ibrox but Rangers are keen for him to get more first-team exposure.
