Josh Langford cleared for basketball activities per Tom Izzo

Let’s take a quick break from football to report some good news for MSU hoops.

Joshua Langford has been cleared for basketball activities after missing much of last season with a foot injury. That’s according to CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein.

As you can see in the tweet, Kyle Ahrens has also resumed full participation after spraining his ankle in the Big Ten Tournament.

While the return of Ahrens was seemingly inevitable, there was an air of mystery surrounding Langford’s injury which went from a week-to-week injury to a season-ending injury within the span of a few weeks. It’s good to hear he’s healed up and back to full strength.

Before the injury Langford averaged 15 points and 3.6 rebounds in non conference play. He’s expected to form one of the best backcourt duos in the nation with fellow senior Cassius Winston as the Spartans push for a national championship; an accomplishment for which they are currently the betting favorites.

Basketball season is still a few months out, but its get to get some clarity on an injury that threw a wrench into Michigan State’s season last December.
