Josh Lambo wins Special Teams Player of the Week award for Week 7

Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo has been lights out this year and his Week 7 performance against the Cincinnati Bengals has earned him another accolade. The league named the veteran Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 7 Wednesday after he went 4-of-4 Sunday on his field-goal attempts. It marked the second time that Lambo has won the award this season and made him the first player to win the award twice in one year since Josh Scobee did it in 2005.

Lambo’s performance Sunday brought him to 18-of-18 in terms of field goals on the year. With the Jags struggling to see the end zone on occasions, Lambo has contributed 54 points in field goals to the team’s point total on the season. He’s also perfect on extra point attempts with a 10-of-10 ratio on the season.

Lambo also won the award after Week 4’s win over the Denver Broncos, where he kicked the game-winning field goal to close the game. He was also 4-of-4 that day and contributed a couple of extra-points, too.

Entering Week 8, Lambo will be on a hot streak as he’s made 20 consecutive field goals. Most would agree he’s having a Pro Bowl-caliber season, currently standing as one of two kickers in the league with a 100 percent conversion rate alongside Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker.
