Josh Kroenke to appear at Arsenal Fans' Forum after European Super League fiasco

Josh Kroenke will appear at an Arsenal Fans' Forum on Thursday where he is expected to be grilled by supporters about the European Super League fiasco.

The Gunners confirmed on Monday that they were among the 12 teams to have signed up to the new Super League.

However, after a fierce backlash from fans, pundits, government and media they confirmed their withdrawal from the competition within 48 hours of the initial announcement.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta had revealed in his pre-match press conference ahead of Friday's game against Everton, that Kroenke and his father Stan had issued an apology and told them to pass it on to the players.

"Yes I had some communication with them as well," said Arteta.

"I spoke with them yesterday. Those communications were in the same terms. As always when we need something or when something is happening they are straight away ready to act to give the answers that they can do to give the support that they can do. They’ve done it again.

"Obviously, they have the maximum responsibility to run the football club and this is what they said.

"Apologise for disturbing the team by doing that, not having the capacity or the ability to communicate in a different way earlier and to explain the reasons why and pass on that message to the players.

"That’s all you can ask for and the way they’ve done it I have to accept it completely.

Kroenke will be joined by chief executive Vinai Venkatesham and technical director Edu for the 30 minute call which is scheduled to start from 16:30 BST.
